So Mrs Duffy objects to being referred to as a "woman" and would prefer to be referred to as a "lady". Shame on the Mail then for the opening words of their article! Fortunately at least one good loon knows to refer to the fairer sex as ladies, until proven otherwise!

I think her objection was the 'that' in the 'that woman' remark. Derogatory use.
She seemed happy to be referred to as "that lady" though. The only difference seems to be the use of woman instead of lady. But I wouldn't expect a woman like you to understand the distinction subrosa ;o) Only joking dear lady!
